The Australia- Gallipoli Friendship Society Media Release

Immediate Media Release

I felt that Australia is my sweet home more than ever !
During my recent long stay in Turkey, I heard that the tremendous bush fire in Victoria. When I see the news on the Turkish TVs I cry every time, as all the other Turkish people in Turkey.
We all extremely saddened to hear what's happened in Victoria which affected many Victorians / Australians. So devastated at the loss of life and suffering to those people and the loss of their homes.

I personally especially this time consider that Australia as my loved country more than ever. I also consider that Australia needs me but I am so far from it. I can't do much from here. I feel so guilty to be away from my country when it needed me.

My heart goes out to those that are suffering in Victoria, to all my dear country Australia, all Australian friends and animals ( my mother who lives in Turkey and her favorite animals are kangaroos, she is worrying about them as well).

Our sincere sympathies are with all those who are in pain.

(As one of many Turks, does anyone one knows if the international branches of the Australian Banks will accept donations? )

Missing Australia so much,…
Care and love you all,
God bless you all,
Julia Gül Arslan
